The Farm to School movement has been gaining in popularity across California over the past 20 years. However, two limiting factors often make Farm to School products inviable: cost and supply. HELP's sustainable, wholesale agriculture project is commited to meeting the breakfast and lunch needs of our participating local schools and after school and summer camp programs.

HELP also provides an opportunity for local farmers and growers to supply their products to our schools.

The Farm to School Program includes the "Strawberries for Schools" project. This fund-raising effort provides an opportunity for students to learn the principals of organic strawberry production, to sell strawberry transplants, and to make fresh strawberry preserves. While providing a valuable revenue stream for the Project and our schools, this aspect also offers a renewable and sustainable fundraising alternative that teaches leadership and business skills of which our youth can be proud.
